Contemporary cuisine with French flair and dazzling Audemars Piguet (AP) watches (the official watch of the Gourmet Festival) were on display at Third Floor restaurant and bar at the AP hosted dinner. Stepping into Third Floor, guests were quickly transported into a chic, minimalist styled dining haven. The evening began with wine and hor d'ourves in the swanky bar area, before the more than 70 guests moved into the classy dining section. Oliviero Bottinelli, Chief Executive Officer for the South East Asia division of AP, was sincere in his wish for everyone to get better acquainted. "When we eat together we are friends," he stated warmly in his welcoming speech, "whether we know each other or not." And since he was now amongst friends, Bottinelli shared the three loves of his life - his wife (of two months), his watches (a brand he's passionate about) and his food. "I live to eat," he revealed. With that all that was left for him to do was to wish his fellow food-lovers, 'Bon appetit'. Dunhill cigars were offered around much to the appreciation of many. A regular Festival enthusiast, Mike Krishnan, Group Managing Director of Land and General Berhad was one of many guests who savoured Third Floor. "The food is superb," he revealed. "The pomegranate and orange granite's citrus tang to cleanse the palate was tasty and delicious. Chef Ken Hoh has done a superb job and the quality of food in the Festival gets better each year." "The meal was exquisite," agreed Jeffrey Perera, Country Manager, Malaysia Visa International, the official credit card of the Festival. "The choice of cuisine and new creations are unique at the Festival. From looking around the room tonight and from my involvement as a sponsor, I have every reason to believe that the level of enthusiasm is exceptionally high this year," he concluded. As dessert was served, AP's latest eye-catching watches were modelled to the inspiring tunes of Andrea Bocelli, creating a fittingly stylish end to a truly tasteful evening. back to top |
